Celebrations of Life

Memorials, Eulogies, Bereavement Support, End-of-Life Ceremonies

All Are Welcome

Officiant, Celebrant, Non-Denominational Minister

At times like these it can be difficult, if not, impossible to think things through. I’m glad you reached out to me. I have much experience helping people through these transitions. I can help you create whatever type of service or celebration that will fit your needs.

This kind of planning can be an overwhelming task and you don’t have to do it alone. If you’d like to talk in person or by phone about how I can help, call me at (541)345-5058, or email me via the form below and I will get right back to you. This initial conversation is offered at no charge.

Memorials, Ceremonies, and Life Celebrations

All beliefs and traditions are welcome

The Planning Process:

We meet initially to discuss your needs, in person or over the phone, to give you give you an opportunity to ask questions, to discuss costs, and to get acquainted. This introductory meeting is offered at no charge. Planning the ceremony usually requires three basic steps:

  • Learning about the person who has passed
  • Understanding your needs and the needs of others who are part of the person’s friends and family
  • Planning the ceremony logistics with you and others

Although you may not have answers to any of these questions right now, and it’s just fine if you don’t, some people find that it’s comforting to have a list of things to think about before meeting.

Here are some questions I’ll ask:
Do you have a plan in place, or do you need help with planning?
What type of service are you planning? see options, on this page
Is the ceremony indoors or out? What location?
Is there a spiritual or secular tradition you would like to follow?
Are there songs or poems you want included?

"Joy's living celebration was perfect, and gave her close friends a chance to share memories with her before she left us. There was lots of singing, which she loved."

Sylvia, participant in a living celebration for a loved one

"I remember Barb's presence with us as a balm in a stormy time. Her warm heart, kindness and groundedness brought a tangible sense of calm and relief. I am grateful for her loving care for my friend, myself, and all who were accompanying him in his final weeks of life."

"Thank you so much Barb. We can’t imagine going through this process without your caring guidance."

Rachael, Joan & Chris

"I remember you and I in Skye's living room, talking with her and her son about her impending death, and her joy at being able to complete her wonderful life as a forest-person by being planted naturally in a family-painted cardboard coffin in the Eugene Masonic Cemetery. I remember how you gracefully created that conversation between us all, and I look forward to working with you to open more doors to that kind of empowerment for others in the future."

Cynthia Beal

“Thank you for all your help and work in setting up the memorial, it was such a relief to have someone organize it. You did a wonderful job and I really appreciate all the time and care you put into it.”

“When my sister was told she had terminal cancer, she decided to plan her Celebration of Life service with Barb’s help. On the day of the service Barb met with everyone taking part and let them know when they would speak and how much time they would have. There were two choirs and soloists along with everyone else. She did an excellent job of organizing and conducting the service as well as being mindful of the feelings of the family. We all felt she was an excellent choice.”
